So many of us pray that we could have one more chance to get a hug from our Mom, our Dad or that special loved one who is now gone from our lives, Hugs From Heaven gives you that chance.
My Dad, David Brookstein, was a great man and a wonderful father. He had so much strength and was the best person I knew. So many times, when I was feeling low, I wished I could have one more hug from him. The feeling of his strong arms around me, reassuring me that everything would be okay, seemed lost…
When my parents died, I kept some personal items of their clothing hanging in my closet. Taking them out every once in a while to hold them and smell them would bring tears to my eyes but still I did it.
A few years ago, things were very tough on me and as I looked at my Daddy’s sweater somehow I realized how I could get that hug I had been craving. Now, every once in awhile, I unhook his sleeves and place them around my neck and squeeze as hard as I can and most of the time, I cry.
I have made three different Hugs From Heaven projects for my family and each presented a different M.O. to get the job done. Those items that have pockets in them are the best, I never fail to write a note and place it in there, it always seems so fitting and tender. I love the ones with pockets.
Each of these Hugs From Heaven are hand sewn with love and caring, hoping to give comfort to those who receive them. You can make your own very easily. Some pins, a needle and thread, a bit of imagination and the love and desire for that closeness from the ones you loved and lost. Although, I cry each time I get my hug, I always feel better.
Hugs From Heaven a little bit of love from beyond.
